Path of the Dragonstar
3260 AE — The Forongorn Confederation based on the planet Aranal achieve interstellar spaceflight.
3252 AE — The Confederates discover Irindul III, a forest-planet with many races living in a unified civilization. The first contact in known history between peoples of different worlds occurs.
3245 AE — After seven years of attempted exploration of the Dark Zone by the spacefarers of Irindul, they finally get a response: A hiveship of mind flayers invades Irindulan space. After much destruction, the ship is destroyed and the Dark Zone is declared off-limits.
3242 AE — Forongorn Confederates and the Irindulan Consulate forge a treaty, outlining agreements regarding spaceflight, exploration, and colonization. This treaty becomes known as the Treaty of Halessa, named for the Confederate ship on which it was signed.
3242-2990 AE — The starfleets of Aranal and Irindul III explore the nearby star systems, eventually spreading outwards into the galaxy. They come across other inhabited worlds, some near their own level of technology, and slowly induct them into their interstellar community.
2990 AE — The Confederates form an umbrella government to administrate the new worlds peacefully. This government is called the Star League, and is based largely on the legal structure of the venerable Forongorn Confederation.
2464 AE — A League ship happens upon a dragon-dominated planet. The captain, having never met a dragon before, offered his greetings and an invitation to join the ever-expanding Star League. The few dragons who were intelligent enough to see the benefit of this accepted.
2464-450 AE — Over the next two thousand years, dragons became great powers in the Star League. Their unique and superior abilities, millennial lifespans, and great sums of wealth led them to becoming a dominant force in the galaxy. Many chromatic dragons became crime lords and devastating military leaders, often claiming entire planets under their domain. Metallic dragons were portrayed as self-glorifying figures who thought of themselves as gods. At this time, hate groups against dragons began to form, spreading propaganda vilifying dragons throughout the galaxy.
449 AE — Haruar Del Kama, a human wizard, lead a group of men to slaughtering an ancient silver dragon named Shaelmak. This triggered a quick a decisive response from both metallic and chromatic dragons. The Star Fleet fails to respond in any way to the brutal murder.
445 AE — On the planet Scion III, a council of metallic dragons founds Qesemet to protect their kind. They name the ancient gold dragon Khelorn the king of Qesemet.
440 AE — Chromatic dragons found the rivaling kingdom of Asamet, lead by the blue wyrm Lazalius. The chromatic clans flock to Lazalius to unite in paranoid preparation against Qesemet.
242 AE — The Massacre of Meniach IV becomes first incident in the Dragon Wars, and sparks a 200-year war between the dragon kingdoms.
12 AE — The annihilation of the planet Krellis is the turning point in the Dragon Wars. Houses Andor and Aranath, the brass and bronze dragon clans of Qesemet, invade a relatively-neutral planet of rare yellow dragons. During the battle, the Houses of Qesemet utilize the kingdom’s most deadly weapon: the planar bomb. The planet is destroyed, along with the space and time which it occupied. The subsequent Black Rift renders the local system uninhabitable.
Formation of the Imperial Era — A new counsel on Scion III, together with both the chromatic and metallic dragons, formed the modern Dragon Empire. Scion III is renamed Draconis Prime.
